New doctor-patient communication resource kit for doctors

comments

The kit comprises two booklets in a practical and useful binder, titled General Guidelines for Medical Practitioners on Providing Information to Patients, and, Communicating with Patients: Advice for Medical Practitioners.

The information contained in the kit is brief but comprehensive, outlining the benefits of good communication and the impact of poor communication and providing practical advice on how to handle particular situations.

The advice booklet summarises what areas should be covered during a consultation and focuses on techniques such as active listening, helping understanding and communicating bad news.

The documents are available here.
